Art, Business and Legacy of Beauty

There are many people in America who believe that they do not have time for art. My response to them is that, if America has the time for - right-wing radio talk shows, tele-evangelists, political correctness, personality psychology and global warming deniers - then it most certainly has the time for art, which consumes much less resources than any such things and affectuates far greater utility.
The Renaissance Italy, with a population of 3 million and per capita GDP of $1,000 a year, had the time and the resources for Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Cathedral, and any number of timeless masterpieces. America, with a population of 300 million and per capita GDP of $45,000, has the human and material resources for 300 Sistine Chapels. Why then do we not see works of similar caliber being produced?
Much of it is a result of anti-artistic thinking. There are people in America who believe that there is no value for art. Yet these same people think that there is value in things that are much more expensive than art and that are ultimately destrucive - things such as right-wing radio talk shows, tele-evangelists, political correctness, personality psychology and global warming denier industry.
Another contributing factor is a hostility that we see between some in art and some in business. A lot of artists see businessmen as scoundrels, and a lot of businessmen see artists as bums. That does not have to be. Art and business should work together; and when it does work together - as was the case in 1920s - the result is a legacy of embodied beauty. In 1920s, there were any number of beautiful buildings and machinery produced, such as the Chrysler Building and the Packard. Are we less talented than the people in 1920s? Absolutely not. There has just been a lot of stupidity on this issue, which stupidity it falls up to people like me to address.
If people in 1920s, or during the Italian Renaissance, could produce great works of beauty, then so can the contemporaries. There is more wealth now in the world than at any time in history, and some of this wealth should go to creating beauty. Beautiful buildings, beautiful machinery, beautiful paintings, beautiful interiors, beautiful literature, beautiful film, beautiful music, beautiful software, are all things that people today can easily afford. Much more so than either during the Italian Renaissance or in 1920s.
The more beauty is produced, the less resources need to go to psychologists, preachers and practitioners of political correctness to destroy people's longing for beauty. The more money is saved, and the greater benefit is achieved. Not only does this make sense aesthetically, it also makes sense economically. For what is a pittance in terms of contemporary wealth, can be created an enormous legacy of beauty. And that would not only benefit the contemporaries; it would also benefit the memory of the contemporaries in the minds of the future generations. They will look at all the beauty that has been created and thank the people who have created it. We will have achieved a proud legacy.
Instead of fighting each other, the businessman and the artist should work together. Every time they did in the past, the results have been spectacular. Ultimately both the businessman and the artist are a part of the same pursuit: To create benefit and add to life. The businessman actualizes humanity's productive potential, and the artist actualizes humanity's creative potential. And it's time that both parties see that about one another and learn to get along.
When the creative and the productive work together, the result is embodied beauty. And that will not only benefit the contemporaries. It will create a glorious legacy for the contemporaries that future generations will honor and seek to rise to the challenge that it sets.

The Beauty of Doing Nothing

During the warmer months, I find that laboring away in the mirror in order to look good is at the bottom of my list. Meaning, I want to use as few products as I possibly can to get the job done-so, uncomplicated but effective is a must. Taking my minimalistic routine one step further, uncomplicated can also mean stripping down my beauty stash to products with fewer and more natural ingredients.
For my dry skin, synthetic moisturizers just don't seem to hold up after an hour or two of heat exposure and often leave my skin feeling even drier than before. One of my favorite body hydrators is pure coconut oil. Not only does it nourish and revitalize the skin but it leaves you feeling soft and smooth all day... this means no alligator elbows or dry feet either! You can find a variety of brands at health food stores or Whole Foods.
To stave away dry skin on my face and soften those dreaded expression lines I rely on John Masters Organics Pomegranate facial nourishing oil. Just a few drops of this oil made from a blend of fourteen oils including olive, geranium and primrose keep my skin fresh and glowing.
Back when I had my beauty boutique one of our top-selling body products was Juara Invigorating Coffee Scrub and this little number is still one of my all- time favorites for sloughing off dead skin! Plus, it naturally contains caffeine which helps reduce cellulite and stimulates the circulation... but the best part, it's made with sustainable Indonesian coffee and it's smells like a yummy mocha. What could be better?
In my twenties I could go sans foundation, but these days that isn't exactly a smart option, so during spring and summer I seek out the most lightweight base that still provides some coverage. Alison Raffaele makes the perfect organic foundation and powder that helps even out my complexion and ensures I don't end up looking a fright after a few hours of heat. There are also plenty of anti-oxidants to help feed the skin without all the icky stuff like parabens and synthetics.
And lastly one of my favorite organic cosmetic lines RMS makes these pretty little lip-2-cheek pots that are completely free of chemicals and come in six killer shades. I adore the berry toned shade " Modest" for summer, but each one I have tried is a winner.

Discovering the Beauty of Asia

Asia is a continent that has always been a favorite among numerous tourists across the globe. Its natural beauty, friendly people, and exotic destinations make it highly attractive among visitors of all ages. Whether it's your first time to visit or you've been there several times in the past, Asia is a place you will surely love to experience over and over again.
Let's take a quick trip and check out some must-see destinations!
Hong Kong
Hong Kong is a nice spot for foreigners to go. Besides, Cantonese and English are the main languages in the place. Hong Kong is a great mix between traditional and the modern that's why visitors will see wonderful locations without feeling too far from home. Cityscapes, museums, and culinary spots are some of the things you can look forward to when you are in Hong Kong.
Singapore
Next is the modern Asian metropolis of Singapore. Some cultural destinations such as Chinatown and Little India are absolute attention-grabbers. On the other hand, Marina Bay is a place that can be considered as Singapore's very own. Historical locations have also been well-preserved. Make sure, however, that you do not chew gums while in public places since Singapore prohibits distribution and import of it.
Tokyo
Mainly known for its anime, Tokyo is a Japanese city that is always busy. Urban parks, monuments, museums, and historical sites are everywhere. If you are into shopping, this is also the perfect place for you. Better yet, visit there during the cherry blossom season and you'll be amazed with how beautiful the city is. If you want to save some money and enjoy some free attractions, go check out the Sensoji Temple, Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, and Tsukiji Market, among others.
Philippines
If you are traveling with your family and are looking for a nice swimming spot, the "Pearl of the Orient Seas" definitely has so much in store for you. Boracay and Palawan are some of your many choices. On top of that, you will have plenty of activities to choose from while you are in the country with hiking and snorkeling being some of the most common.
Needless to say, Asia is a vacation destination that truly deserves your consideration. If you've never been there, this is the perfect time to make the trip. Go browse the internet and you will easily find resources that contain the best Asia destinations information.

The Most Essential Beauty Treatments

Beauty treatments constitute a huge industry, and for first-timers it can certainly seem just a bit exclusive. There are hundreds of different treatments out there, made even more confusing by being separated by brand. Then there's treatments which deal with extremely small areas compared to those offering very general results. For a newcomer it can all seem more than a touch confusing, so here are some must-try treatments to start you off.
Massage and Aromatherapy
These two often get packaged together, so there's no harm in linking them here. Massage is mainly a way of relieving stress and muscle tension, but this carries a number of benefits in and of itself. You'll get a sturdier immune system, less propensity for anxiety and depression, and a more comfortable sleep at night.
All in all, these treatments are there to relax you and be enjoyed. They don't alter your body, though they do rejuvenate it and give you a far more rested and confident disposure. We all know that something like that can make all the difference, so it's no wonder most spas and salons offer this.
Hair Removal
Unwanted hair is the bane of many a woman's existence, especially for those who aren't fortunate enough to be blonde. Applying hot wax strips at home can just get stressful, and there's plenty of salons out there offering very comprehensive treatments.
Wax strips? Laser treatment? Threading? These are all popular methods, and can be carried out as painlessly as possible by a professional. They'll be able to offer you some long term results for this common problem with plenty of variety in how you get it done. If you're looking for a treatment to get you started, this is certainly one of the most common.
Facials
Get a nice deep clean in your pores, scrub off any dead skin and keep your face pleasant and hydrated. A facial can truly reap some amazing results for a surprisingly quick treatment, and it's a relaxing one to boot.
Book one now and you'll have a professional identifying your skin type and the best substances to apply to it. These treatments are a great way to draw attention to your natural beauty with a rejuvenated appearance, so don't be put off by the chemicals.
Hands and Feed
We are, of course, referring to pedicures and manicures. You can expect to have a pumice taken to remove dead skin from your feet, or even get fish to eat it if you're in a pricier area (it tickles, but isn't as unpleasant as it sounds!). Having your nails trimmed and polished is a quick way to add a little more colour and sharpness to your appearance, so this is another great way to get started on treatments.
The most essential beauty treatments are the basics for professionals like Charlotte Palmer. Alongside this information it's important to know where to buy the best electric beauty couches for beauticians, as a bad couch will lead to no customer satisfaction.

The History Of Beauty Treatments

During the fifteenth century in northern Europe upper class ladies painfully plucked their hairline to make their foreheads appear higher, as was a sign of beauty at the time, as well as scraping back their hair as much as possible in order to wear elaborate headdresses. In Italy the climate was much warmer, and women couldn't wear elaborate headdresses as they were far too hot. Instead, Italian women displayed their hair in plaits under low jewelled caps or turbans. At the time blond hair was considered to be the most beautiful, and many men and women tried to lighten their hair by bleaching it with saffron or onion skin dye. Italian women used to sit for hours in the sun with a crownless hat to let the sun naturally bleach their hair.
In the 16th century fashion changed. King Francis The First accidentally burned his hair, and began a trend for men of wearing their hair at a shorter length, not only on their heads, but also on their faces, sparking shortened moustache and beard styles. Queen Elizabeth was highly influential in setting styles for women at this time. Her naturally pale complexion and red hair was favoured by women in high society, who used copious amounts of white powder and red wigs to fit in. The best way to create this look was by using ceruse, otherwise known as white lead. Lead based rouge would also be used to add a touch of red to cheeks, and alabaster pencils would also be applied to lips, eyebrows and even blue veins. To hold this all together egg white paste was painted over the entire portrait a woman had created on her face, sadly all the use of lead caused skin damage, hair loss, and often death due to lead poisoning.
The eighteenth century saw yet another change to style. Men began to wear long powdered wigs tied back at the back of the neck and wrapped in a black silk bag, although a simple black bow was also acceptable. Some men wore their own hair in this fashion, although they would have looked out of place with a group of other men who would mostly have worn powdered wigs. For women the eighteenth century brought out some of the largest headdresses and hairstyles ever known. Women's hair was trimmed, crimped or curled, and powdered and decorated with bows and garlands. Later coiffures were built up over a woman's head using horse hair pads and wire cages, all of which was then starched to make it stay standing the tallest. Some hairstyles were three feet high and used springs to adjust the height should a woman find that she needed to enter a low doorway. These hairstyles took hours to prepare and required work to remake them every one to three weeks, in which time they were likely to attract vermin. In a stark movement against this formality, the herisson hair style was born, which was nothing more than a bushy mass of hair atop one's head.
The Victorian Era brought about a sense of muteness to makeup and style. Makeup was used much less and only by middle and upper class men and women. Much brighter makeup was thought of as prostitute makeup used only by them and stage actresses, for whom it was part of their job to wear the brighter makeup. Popular magazines of the time and society in general warned against the use of lead based makeup and instead promoted healthy living and hygiene through washing regularly. Women's hair during this period was oiled on top and came back to a long sausage of curls at the side, or heavy curls or plaits at the back of the head. Men of the time kept their hair relatively short, sometimes oiled, and most wore some form of moustache and maintained their beard and sideburns.
Throughout the nineties style changed more regularly throughout each decade. Today styles change three or four times a year, with older styles often coming back into fashion when decided so by fashion designers in the fashion capital of the world, France. As styles continue to change clothes seem to be covering less and less of people's bodies, and it is expected that in the future clothes will be as revealing as swimwear, if not more so.
Charlotte Palmer needed to study the history of beauty treatments to know what she was doing effectively in her work in the massage and beauty industry, as well as buy the correct professional treatment couch to serve her clients with.

For Natural And Safe Beauty Solutions

All women regardless of their natural beauty love make up in some form or another. Accordingly, there are so many different companies that manufacture beauty products and related cosmetics. Women differ in their views of beauty. There are some who feel that fair skin is real beauty. Such women always use fairness creams, carefully maintaining the clarity and luster of their skin. There are others who like a dusky tinge to their skin, and women like that tend to spend a lot of time in the sun, trying to get a tan that will suit them right.
Both the above methods are dangerous in their own ways. There are some beauty products that have certain components which could harm the skin by bleaching it, or damaging come epidermal cells when used for a long period of time. And as far as tanning is concerned, over-exposure to the rays of the sun can sometimes have disastrous side effects. However, there are companies that have devised means by which both these issues can be overcome.
A lot of beauty products that are in the market are derived from animal extracts. For example, glycerin is a commonly used ingredient, because it traps moisture in the skin and hair of users. Glycerin is derived from collagen, which in turn is obtained from animal tissue. There are a lot of other compounds used in cosmetics like stearic acid that is obtained from animal fat, and lanolin from sheep's wool. A number of people are going vegan these days (notably former boxing champion Mike Tyson and famous talk show host Ellen DeGeneres), and companies have come up with vegan beauty products, that are derived completed from natural extracts like plants and herbs. What is more, since all the ingredients are natural there is no danger of skin damage.
Then there is the process of tanning. Although it is effective, continuous exposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun can lead to permanent damage of skin cells, formation of cysts, and sometimes even skin cancer. Some companies have come up with a great solution in the form of sunless tanning. Not only will you be free of the harmful effects of the sun, you can choose the exact shade of tan you want, and work out a tanning schedule accordingly!
Also, in case you are looking to start a tanning business by yourself, there are companies that will provide you with spray tanning equipment at good prices, and give you pointers on how to handle the brushes and produce good results.
Tanning and beauty products are only one part of the equation. There are a lot of people who would like to do something about their weight, and body wraps are the best solution for this. A body wrap consists of pads that can be wrapped around your clothes itself. Then infrared heat is applied to the body.
The infrared energy works at cellular levels, breaking the bonds that form between fat molecules. The application of heat leads to a number of desirable results like body contouring, loss of weight and an improved cellulite appearance.
The process of cellular vibration also helps in increasing the temperature of the dermis and enlarging blood vessels. This stimulates the circulation of blood and activates the metabolism in tissues and cells. There are so many different harmless and effective beauty solutions provided by companies these days.
If you are looking for sunless tanning solutions or you want spray tanning equipment to start your own tanning business, look no further than Natural Glow Sunless.

Inner Beauty: The Key to Beautiful Skin

Beauty on the inside is not just for good hearts and amazing personalities. Virtually all the major leaders and celebrity personalities in the health industry are, in one way or another, showing us all how much our inner beauty impacts how we look and feel and act on the outside. Whether it's Dr. Oz, Jillian Michael, Dr. Dean Ornish, or Lisa Lillien, the common theme is moving towards having the right lifestyle for your overall health.
You have a lot more control than you think in how you feel, how much energy you have, and how you look. And the look and feel of your skin is no different. To create beautiful skin, start with beauty on the inside. Think about it, the old adage "you are what you eat" is so true. But, that is only part of the story. For the whole picture you need to add drink, sleep, do, say, and act to the mix. Try this on for size:
You are what you eat, drink, say, where you go, and how much you do, sleep, stress, and laugh.
Yes, that is a bit long, but it is true. For your skin, it is a combination of your lifestyle and your environment. In fact, 80 percent of the way your skin ages is due to these two factors alone. However, most of us put all our effort and a lot of our money into countless skin treatments for our sun damage, wrinkles, dryness, blemishes, and age spots. Yes, there is a place for dermatologist grade products in your skincare routine. However, no skincare routine or product can compensate for poor inner health.
The first and most important thing you can do is drink lots of water. I know you hear this all the time, but it is so true! Your body is an organ - the largest organ - and it is made up of 70 percent water. There are many skin problems that originate with dry skin so it is very important (1) to hydrate and (2) moisturize without suffocating your skin.
The last point is very important because many moisturizing lotions actually clog pores and keep the skin from breathing. Your skin is a dynamic organ with anywhere between 2-4 million sweat glands. In an area the size of a quarter, you have around 600 pores. That puts the number of pores on your face alone in the 30,000 to 50,000 range. If you consider the impact of thick moisturizers, foundation, and other make-up, then it is easy to see why we have skin issues, and why they get more pronounced over time.
To give your skin the breathing room it needs, wash your face twice a day, keep the make up to a minimum if possible, and use a light moisturizer. Look for a moisturizer where the main ingredient is a natural oil or extract like sunflower seed or macadamia oils. Natural oils and extracts will lubricate your skin without clogging pores and it could make all the difference in the look, feel and health of your skin.

Reveal Your True Inner Beauty

All women are gorgeous. A few women may require a bit more assistance in bringing out that beauty, however it is there ready to be presented to everyone. Cosmetics are not related to true beauty, even though they can easily enhance natural attributes. Real beauty originates from looking after yourself properly and taking advantage of your pure inner beauty.
True beauty emanates from within, so begin by feeding the body properly. Follow a well-balanced diet which includes plenty of vegetables and fruit, and limit your serving sizes making it not as likely you will gain unneeded pounds. Generate exercise as part of your daily routine. Exercise helps in keeping the body toned and looking great, it also assists in keeping unwanted weight in balance, enhances your metabolic process and levels of energy and keeps your heart working optimally. Plan exercise to your routine, or else you will probably never get to it. Go for a walk after dinner or on your lunch hour, or enroll in a formal team or class that meets on a regular basis. Find something you like, so you are motivated to help keep you moving.
Try and get a good amount of shut-eye every night. While you are sleeping, the body renews itself, so not getting enough sleep enables you to feel and look older and you may have less energy. Another big factor is those under eyes circles or bags that may form beneath your eyes allowing everyone to see that enough sleep maybe difficult for you. Make an effort to get 8 hours of sleep every night to look and feel your very best.
Drinking a good amount of water is important if you wish to feel and look great. Water is really is a great moisturizer, when you consume the correct amount of water, the skin will stay hydrated, supple, soft and you will appear to have not as many wrinkles. Also, water is great for your digestive tract it helps move along the food through the digestive system, this moves along the toxins that we all have in our bodies which helps keep our bodies healthy.
Use moisturizer to secure your skin's moisture and help minimize the look of wrinkles and fine lines. Moisturizer is essential for the entire body. Immediately after taking a bath or showering, put on the moisturizer all over your body while the skin remains damp to keep the skin hydrated.
Review of your wardrobe. Do you have clothing that flatters you, or causes you to look out of style or old? Search through all of your clothes and eliminate those items which do not do justice for your appearance. While you shop, purchase clothing that will flatter your figure. Steer clear of buying clothes simply because they may be a bargain. If they will not flatter you, they may be a total waste of money.
Just how long has it been since you changed your hairstyle? A lot of us become happy with one hairstyle and neglect to ensure that is stays updated. Look over hairstyle magazines and talk to your stylist to generate a brand new hairstyle that flatters the face and that's age appropriate.
Equally as essential as caring for your body is caring for yourself on a psychological level. What this means is limiting stress and/or coping with it properly. Find something which meets your needs, whether it's yoga, deep breathing, having a spa day, meditation or perhaps counseling. When your are more relaxed you will have a glow about you and look more beautiful.
Present yourself with the very best confidence. Throw back the shoulders, hold your head up high and move gracefully whenever you walk. Even if you have the most trending clothing and know how to apply your makeup properly it will not do you full justice if you don't present yourself with confidence, poise and calmness. If you are having trouble in this area try practicing facing a mirror.
Perhaps you have observe that this beauty article didn't mention the way to apply makeup? This is because true beauty isn't about artificiality. True beauty emanates from within and it is reflected within your appearance and exactly how you carry yourself and behave. Stick to the tips in this article to bring out your true beauty within you.

Beauty Taboos

I can't condemn anyone for making these mistakes because I am practically famous for them. There is a huge difference between how we look in our own bathroom mirrors and how we actually appear in the outside world. There must be some sort of filter keeping us from seeing the horrible mistakes in beauty and fashion that are somehow invisible to us in the comfort of our homes. When it comes to looking good, sometimes the odds are stacked against us, but fortunately knowing some of these taboos beforehand can help us to avoid them, at least part of the time.
Mismatched Foundation
I have a few pictures of myself hidden away where my face, normally medium toned, is instead a frothy off-white. If my neck were the same color as my face, I could have just pulled off being unnaturally pale, even sickly, but no, I thought putting foundation on my neck would be overdoing it. I have to keep the photos because they are, after all, my only prom photos, but they also serve as great reminders of once was a terrible mistake.
When applying foundation, consistency is key. I would also advise less is more, because what you're hoping to achieve is a natural look with just enough coverage to create an even surface and nothing more.
Panty Lines
This is definitely not as bad as having your dress tucked into your underwear, which even if you can't admit it, is something we are all guilty of. Panty lines do come in a close second when it comes to fashion mishaps. Most of the time we don't even think about that being a problem until it's too late and were far from home. Choosing underwear made with elastic lace can help prevent lines but still allow a full coverage feel. If you're comfortable with wearing a thong, that's also a great option. Some women swear by going panty-free, though I've never been brave enough to try.
Over-Tweezed Brows
I chose to include this over bad fake tans and visible lip liner because unlike those taboos, this one may not be reversible. Tweezing too often can inhibit hair growth, which means your shoddy tweezing job may be a permanent fixture. Brows that are too short, too thin, or too spaced apart are just unattractive and no amount of brow liner can change that.
Tight Clothes
If your clothes shrunk in the wash or you've gained a bit of weight recently, you may notice that your clothes don't fit you the way they usually do. You might try to ignore the signs in an attempt to avoid buying new clothes, but think about the consequences first. Tight clothes can cause lumpiness all around your body including the infamous muffin tops, or as I like to call them, mushroom clouds. If you're busty, tight button-down tops are the ultimate fashion faux pas because from the front it might not look that bad, but from the side, you're putting on your very own peep show. You're much better off buying clothes that fit!

Beauty Within

How many of us look in the mirror and begin looking at ourselves only to focus on our imperfections? More than likely, there are many more of us who do as opposed to those who do not. It's not that anything is wrong with understanding you as a whole; which includes knowing both your imperfections and you're individually defined attributes and qualities.
First thing first; everyone has something about themselves they just either hate, or wish it was slightly different. For instance, I don't necessarily like my nose, not because it's ugly, just because I would like something a little different. Sometimes I do not like my curly hair because when I wear it straight I have to be careful that the humidity doesn't get a hold to it. I don't like that I'm petite, or little because I've always wanted to weigh about 135lbs; put some meat on my bones. But when it all boils down to it, I'm who I am and I had to learn to accept that about me.
I know we all have heard the saying; "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" which only means it's whatever the viewer sees's or believes to be beautiful. So, let us define beauty. According to all the definitions, beauty is a characteristic and quality within a person, animal, place, or an object that is perceived to be an experience of pleasure. Not one definition referred to beauty as only the physical. Great examples of how we have distorted the real meaning of beauty; there are those who believe women are beautiful because they maybe tall and thin with long hair. So, does this necessarily mean all tall thin long haired women are beautiful; absolutely not, but there are those who believe this to be true; therefore causing women to believe, in order to be beautiful you must have long hair and stand 6 feet tall and weigh 100lbs. Another example is the beauty between dark skinned black women vs. light skinned black women. Although many of us would say beauty comes in all different shapes, color, and sizes doesn't prevent others for believing the idea that beauty is seen more in light skinned women over dark skinned women, and yes, this creates a lingering problem, not only low self-image for dark skinned woman, but an arrogance in light skinned woman. Another example where beauty is considerably undivided is blonde hair blue eyes vs. any other. I know plenty blonde hair blue eye woman who believe because they have blonde hair blue eyes are more beautiful than any other; say it isn't so. Well, I wish it wasn't.
Even though beauty seems very difficult to define and to explain, naturally this is because many of us view beauty from the standpoint of physical attributes only. And as shallow as it seems, it's the reality for majority of women and men. When this sort of misconception creeps in we receive a flood of destroyed self-image and self-concept distorting the true meaning of beauty. This sort of behavior and attitude allows individuals to fester in subjective thinking. Despite putting the truth out, many of us will still continue to believe these misconceptions, only creating other issues as jealousy, envy, resentment, division, and in some cases, pure hate.
Beauty is a huge topic because it's one of those elements that affect self-esteem. Although we know there are other factors involved with low self-esteem, one we don't; genetics. However, we do have control in what we choose to believe, especially as it pertains to ourselves; this is part of the intricate details of life that we must learn; finding what truly makes an individual beautiful. Perhaps your beauty isn't in the physical, but beauty can still be found.
Beauty is more than physical; it helps divide all the great things about an individual. We must face facts; physically everyone is not on the same level. There are those who we wished we only looked like because we believe they have a better life; not true, even physically beautiful people become unhappy and dissatisfied. Remember, self-esteem is exactly that, it belongs to self, not anyone else. If we continue to allow society views on beauty to place us in a category, we will never truly understand the real meaning of our own beauty.
True story, many years ago a young lady swore she was the best looking girl in town, and once I got a chance to know her, her outside was physically attractive; however, when she opened her mouth and began to speak, she struck me as foolish and having no clue of how ignorant she sounded. She believed because she was light skinned with a decent grade of hair (understand this is major amongst black women) at any rate, she lacked class, charisma, elegance, even proper English; yet, in her eyes she was absolutely beautiful and that was all she needed. It was a shame to allow someone to continue believing something that had been absolutely untrue; not because she didn't have the physical attributes but because she lacked all other qualities that truly make an individual beautiful.
Remember, we are not all made the same and there are those who are born as physically beautiful people, you're unable to take that away. But please do not ever believe beauty only stops there. Beauty is a combination of many things, but one thing beauty is not; is shallow.

Living Beauty

I love things of beauty! Whether it is something from nature or man-made, my soul delights in things that please the eye and touch the heart. I especially love the variety of color and texture that plants and their flowers provide. Not only are plants visually appealing, they are actually alive! They need water, sunlight, and nutrients to thrive and continue giving us visual, tactile, and olfactory pleasures. I believe that caring for plants allows us to share in the joy of God's creations. Gardening outdoors brings me great pleasure and I enjoy cultivating indoor plants as well. Plants are only some of God's living creations; our human bodies are His most intricate creations we know about.
Beautiful Body and Mind
The male and female bodies are beautifully created. Artists have been drawing, painting, and sculpting the human body for centuries. Just like with cultivating plants, creating replicas of the human body is a way we can share in God's creation of beauty. I think more often, though, our bodies are taken for granted. We are so used to our bodies being part of us that we often neglect them and do not care for them properly. If we fed plants the sodas, fast food, ice cream, candy and addictive substances we consume ourselves, we would make them ill and they would eventually die as these substances would be poisonous to them. Our bodies need the correct nutrition, sunshine, and physical activity to flourish.
Taking care of our bodies is one way we take care of our minds. Both our bodies and our brains need water and healthy nutrition in order to function well. Both our bodies and our brains will atrophy if we neglect proper care of them. We can also feed or pollute our minds depending on what visual things we look at, read, or the content in which we listen. Our bodies and minds absorb what we give them and for this reason we need to be conscious of our choices of consumption.
Word of Wisdom
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides a scriptural word of wisdom for its members. Of course, these guidelines apply to all people's health. The restoring prophet of Christ's Church upon the earth again, Joseph Smith, received revelation about what is good and not good for our bodies. We are told to eat fruits, vegetables, certain grains, and meat sparingly and in times of famine or need. We are told to avoid any and all addictive substances. At the time of this revelation, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and tea were the addictive substances available, but today there are many more for us to avoid. We need to use our common sense to make good decisions for our bodies even though every available harmful product is not specified in the Word of Wisdom.
President Boyd K. Packer of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles simplifies the Word of Wisdom for members of the Church. He invites all people to follow this admonition for good health for mind and body. He also teaches us that by caring for our bodies and minds well, we will be sensitive to the Spirit of God guiding us in our lives. Pres. Packer says that the Word of Wisdom is an eternal principle with promises. "While the Word of Wisdom requires strict obedience, in return it promises health, great treasures of knowledge, and that redemption bought for us by the Lamb of God, who was slain that we might be redeemed. Surely the Word of Wisdom was given so that you may keep the delicate, sensitive, spiritual part of your nature on proper alert. Learn to 'listen' to your feelings. You will be guided and warned and taught and blessed."

Achieve A Beautiful Tan Using Sunless Tanning Lotion

By Haywood Hunter

Imagine being able to take years off of your age just by having a nice golden tan. You don't have to lay in the sun or pay for a membership at a salon. You can have a golden tan using Sunless Tanning Lotion.

For over fifty years, there has been an increased interest and awareness regarding skin cancer. As a result, more and people have started using cream products to gain a sun-kissed look. Using these lotions, you don't have to worry about premature aging or any of the other harmful effects from the sun.

Sunless tanning products use a chemical called dihydroxyacetone, or DHA, to cause the top layer of dead skin cells to change to a darker pigment. For a tan that last even longer, you can find products that combine erythrulose and DHA. Both types of products offer a nice golden color.

Applying the product can be tricky and it is recommended that you exfoliate your skin really well, so that the product will apply evenly. Be careful of thicker skinned areas like the elbows, as the product can sometimes turn darker in these areas. Hold off from swimming or bathing for a few hours until the cream has completely absorbed into your skin.

Keep in mind that while these lotions can make your skin darker in appearance, they offer no protection from the sun. They do not contain a sunscreen and you can develop a sunburn after spending time in the sun if you are not wearing sunscreen. The tan that develops is for cosmetic purposes only and will not add extra protection while in the sun.

Sunless tanning lotion is great because there are no health risks. Using this product, you don't have to worry about skin damage or premature ageing. Application is quick and simple and can be applied until desired color is reached. This lotion is a great alternative to conventional sun beds or sunbathing. You can have a beautiful tan without harming your skin!

All About A Sunless Tanning Lotion

By Haywood Hunter

Following the trend of bronzed, glowing skin has been made easy with the different formulas of sunless tanning lotion available on the market. They can give you the look without exposing you to the cancer-causing rays emitted by the sun. Here are some guidelines on how to make your experience with choosing and using a sunless tanning lotion more pleasant:

First things first, choose a sunless tanning lotion that does not contain animal proteins. You will not only be supporting the ethical treatment of animals, but also buying a product that is free the infamous strange smell that the average sunless tanning lotion has. If your skin is naturally pale, choose a shade that is only slightly darker than your own color to avoid ending-up with an orange undertone due to oxidation.

Two to three hours before applying your sunless tanning lotion, create a smooth canvas for it by getting rid of body hair. You can do that by either shaving or waxing. Taking a warm shower and exfoliating will kill the harmful bacteria on the surface, remove the dead skin, and help you achieve a streak-free application. Pat your skin dry before you rub the sunless tanning lotion onto it to avoid mixing it with water.

For a realistic finish, apply the sunless tanning lotion all over your body, but be sure to avoid applying it on and around your genitals. However, if you only want to add some color to your face, make sure you still apply some sunless tanning lotion on your neck and chest so they match. In order to prevent creasing, rub some colorless body lotion on areas with rough skin, such as your knees and elbows.

A sunless tanning lotion is very likely to stain your hands. To avoid that, invest in a box of latex gloves from the medical supply store and put them before using the fake tan. For added protection, wash your hands with soap every several minutes.

Apply no more than one thin coat of the sunless tanning lotion evenly all over your skin for the best results. You may not see the dark color right away, but it will start to appear over time. You do not need to have several layers of tan on your skin for it to be visible.

Choosing a sunless tanning lotion with some tint to it will give you a temporary tan that will help you avoid streak lines and missed spots. It will later on develop into a long-lasting tan. A creamy formula, as opposed to a spray tan, makes the process even simpler because it gives you greater control over the amount of tan to use.

If your sunless tanning lotion is not completely dry when you put on your clothes, it is very likely to rub off onto them. In you read the directions on the back of the box, they will tell you exactly how much time the sunless tanning lotion needs to be absorbed by your skin. Wait about double that time, then put on some
dark, loose-fitting clothes and you will be ready to go with a beautiful glow

5 Best Haircuts for Round Faces

What do Mila Kunis, Kirsten Dunst, and Emma Stone have in common? These gorgeous ladies all have round face shapes, like you! They always look stunning because all it takes is the right haircut or hairstyle to flatter wider, softer features.
There are haircuts at every hair length for every hair texture emphasize length and minimize width to create the illusion of that coveted oval face. Check out all these beautiful hairstyles you have to choose from.
Here are the 5 best hairstyles for round faces:
1. BANGS
At every hair length, bangs can be a flattering addition for round faces. Side swept bangs are the universally flattering look and add desirable angles. Add a few wisps, thick fringe, or longer bangs that hit at the cheekbone, depending on your hair type and haircut.
If you're in love with Zooey Deschanel's blunt bangs, don't worry! They're totally flattering for wider faces when worn at eye brow skimming length. A few angled layers around the chin help too.
Straight across bangs don't have to be literally straight across. Subtly cutting bangs into a gentle arc that is shorter at the sides and longer in the centre softens the blunt bang. Or slightly curl blunt bangs under for something a little bit different.
2. LONG HAIR
Long hair worn adds the illusion of length to round faces or wide cheeks. Wear long hair straight to eliminate any undesirable width. Use a flat iron and serum for ultra sleek and super shiny hair.
If you love the always in style center part, be sure hair is at least collar bone length. Even better is a graduated cut that adds angles near the face.
You can also rock the side part, just off centre to very deep to one side. Hair will fall over the cheeks, given you a more angular visage.
If you want to add a few romantic curls to this look for a date or everyday, you still can! Save yourself time and flatter your face shape by starting the curls below the chin.
3. SHOULDER LENGTH HAIR
This in between medium and long length is one of the best haircuts out there for round faces and really anyone. Medium hair can start to curl from hitting the shoulder while longer can become unmanageable.
Collarbone length hair gives you just enough length without any more work. If you have thick or wavy hair, be sure to get lots of layers cut so hair volume doesn't add width.
4. BOB HAIRSTYLES
Some say bobs are a don't for round faces but it's all about getting the right one for your face shape. If you want a chin length bob like Cameron Diaz, who also has a round face, side swept bangs will add a flattering slant to an otherwise rounded hairstyle.
Or go for a bob that's a few inches below chin length with a side part. This look is chic, stylish, and easy to wear. If you want to add some extra edge, get a choppy bob and wear it tousled.
Angled or graduated bobs are also a great idea. They can be cut at dramatically to exaggerate the angle of your jaw. This also adds gorgeous texture.
5. THE PIXIE CUT
It may seem counterintuitive but cropped cuts can be fabulous for round faces, if you dare to wear one. Ginnifer Goodwin is absolutely transformed with this cute cut that uses angled bangs with lots of jagged layers to contrast a softer jawline.
You can also style hair to add volume, texture, and height at the top of the head. Have fun with it! And the undercut, where one or both sides are shaved, are so hot right now. If you're fashion forward, this cut is ultra feminine.
* Bonus Tip
One last note, if you're throwing hair up into a ponytail, bun, or half up hairstyle, the same rules apply. You want to add height to minimize width. Take a minute to tease hair just behind the hairline to add flattering volume at the crown. Those with fine hair may need a little hairspray or criss-crossed bobbypins for a boost.

Four Beauty Secrets From Ancient India

For generations, women have been caring for their skin and hair from nature's bounty. India has a vast sub continent of herbal heritage, and it provides plenty of ancient recipes that have been effective over time and reverse the harmful effects of the chemicals we tend to use.
Out of all the ancient treatments, there are four different secrets in beauty treatments from ancient India that have excelled in popularity and continue to be passed on from generation to generation.
Turmeric
Turmeric, pronounced as haldi in India, is an ancient herb with great medicinal values and healing powers. Haldi is also used as a spice in Indian cooking beause it is has strong healing powers promoting good for digestion.
But turmeric is actually famous for its skin beautification. It reduces pigmentation, minimizes acne, and provides the user with skin that glows. Because it is such a popular herb, it is readily available in all Indian kitchens.
In fact, Indian marriages have an auspicious ceremony, called haldi, in which the bride has turmeric paste applied all over her body for extra glowing skin.
Honey
Honey acts a moisturizer, hydrating reagent, glowing reagent, conditioner, and cleanser. Honey has no side effects and can be applied everyday to keep the skin soft helping retain moisture in the pores.
Honey is the perfect ingredient for home remedies because it can be easily mixed with other ingredients like milk, apricot paste and lemon juice to maximize your skin treatments. For example, lemon juice will help lighten the skin while the honey will keep the skin moisturized and replenished as the lemon juice does its work.
Rose Water
Ageing is a big problem, especially for people reaching their mid thirties discovering wrinkles, blemishes or cheek sagging for the first time. Rose water is an excellent astringent and is famous for slowing down the ageing process of the skin and toning it. Because water is difficult to extract from a rose petal, many people in India apply the rose directly to their faces. This provides an additional benefit, because the make-up of the petals helps the water cleanse and remove oil from the pores.
Fuller's Earth (Multani Mitti)
The most preferred and the most used ancient Indian beauty ingredient comes straight from the mother nature's nest. In India, fuller's earth is called multani mitti. It is a natural remedy for acne and a cleanser which leaves the skin soft as feather. It is generally used in face masks and scrubs, and it can be easily made home. It absorbs all the oil making skin less greasy, decreasing the chances for pimples to develop. People add honey, turmeric, lime juice, and milk to add effectiveness to their face masks.
There are numerous ways people can beautify themselves. Sit with an elderly woman from the remote areas of India, and even she would tell you ways to improve your beauty which you may have not ever thought about. Neither the internet nor the newspapers can provide you with information which these wise women have to offer.
Whether you have a hot date, an important business function, or a Bengali matrimony to attend, these beauty secrets are quick remedies that will help you look your best.
